''Panic box'' izašao na ulicu :) / ''Panic box'' came out on the street :)

Posetioci zaintresovano  zastaju ispred naše  ,,Kutije Panike'' , a Ana- volonter tima br. 2 objašnjava značenje rada. Kamioni se premeštaju svakog dana na druge lokacije, zbog čega je i nama svaki dan drugačiji i time neponovljiv :)

Parkiranje na prvu lokaciju kamiona

,,Panic box'' kad padne mrak

Izgleda sve bolje i bolje :)

,,Panic box'' u zgradi NELT-a, Amalija i Ana čuvaju ,,kutiju''
There is an unwritten rule that before any event which precedes the exhausting preparations it is always racing and panic and the feeling that everything will fall apart, and then somehow everything turns out great, according to plan. That was the case opening of the exhibition on the first day of the festival Mixer.Rain, which we so frightened of, did not obstruct all works to look great. Visitors with interest looked at our 'Panic box' and Ana-volunteer of team No. 2 explaining them the meaning of the art work. Trucks are moving every day to different locations, so every day is a  different exhibition and it is never boring :)

Tim #1 Postavka i izložba/ Team #1 Installing the artwork and the exhibition

At the opening day of the Mikser Festival, early in the morning, we gathered in order to set up the installation entitled E => 1/2/3. Maya's dad was in charge of the works, so we are very grateful to him.
Also, the big pad looked better than we expected and some immediately wanted to "try it out".
The setup had successfully passed, and we did everything before the opening with the addition of the performers who gave life to this project. We are very grateful to them, especially at times of rain and wind when it was not very rewarding to be outside.
Due to weather conditions, we moved the artwork several times from the warehouse to the open, and as of today, we hope that the time will be favorable.
The team is also facing some difficulties as conflicts arose and we are at the stage of resolving the problems and we hope to bring the project to a successful end in the next few days...

Postavka rada Panic box! / Setting of the art work ‘’Panic box’’!

Today and yesterday you had a chance to see how artworks on truck look like when everything is already done. However, the process of settings was long and tiring, but it was worth it :) The day before the opening of the Mixer festival, the trucks arrived early in the morning and all the teams had come to check if they got a good truck.
Action begins! The trucks was parked and we are checking how it works fence of trailers, now we are running to get the materials. Nemanja and I went to take the wooden panels while Amalija went to pick up the black paint and black foil. This material we need to make every part painted, box'' which are not already in the black. All the material is been collected and transported to the building NELT where the parked trucks. Now we have a serious job. Experts are here to help, however, and the three of us were extremely busy. Nemanja has adjusted the construction with the craftsmen, and we Amalija and I painted the planks. Everything is finally over and the whole installation looks exactly as we planned! Now we just have to wait the opening of the exhibition. If you have not visited the exhibition yet, we invite you to do so soon as possible and to see the outcome of the hard work of all teams :)

Poslednje pirpreme pred postavku, biranje i narudžbina materijala / Last preparations before setting, selection and ordering of materials

This day was destined for ordering materials and equipment. Amalija and I  went to see the wood panels for making '' box,'' while Nemanja's part of the job was to select the projector. Only a few days left, so everything we order has to be precisely planned first. We said to the polite employees what we're looking for, and then they took us to check whether the material is appropriate. All the wood in the pile looks pretty much the same, but we tried to verify the quality of wood so that people do not think that we are some kind of amateurs. At the end, we've still have call the craftsman and to describe him how wood looks. :) We have selected material, and now we’re more certain that the box would be exactly as we imagined!

Panic box! Gotova animacija :) / Panic box! Animation is ready :)

Nemanja nam pokazuje animaciju

Ukrali smo dokumentaristu iz Tima 5. (s leva na desno) Tanja, Nemanja, Tijana

Pomoć prijatelja 2.deo Amalija, Andrej, Nemanja
Nemanja has finished the animation, and now he is showing  it to us on the laptop. While we are watching the animation, we can imagine how the entire installation would look like.  For the umpteenth time, we measure the dimensions of the wooden boxes in which it will be projected animation. In choosing the material of the box and in measuring the sides of it, helps us Tijana, documentarist of Team 5. After all, we are all part of one big team. :) As it usually happens, while we are resolving one thing, new concern came up, but there is a entire team to help and to advise us. We are considering what are we going to do if it rains and how to fix the construction for the truck? To make the whole thing easier, I'm going to find the artisan to give us advice, and Nemanja and Amalija remains to talk about the curatorial text. ‘’ Panic box'' is name of the artwork, but there is no panic while there is a teamwork. :)

Jedan sasvim uobičajen obilazak kamiona gradske čistoće / One customary tour of the city sanitation trucks

Ekipa ,,naoružana'' fotoaparatima i metrima
Naš ,,postament''

If someone once said that to us, that we will eagerly wait for weeks to get closer to the city sanitation trucks, I would probably have thought that I was participant in a surrealist film. Especially when representatives of each team brought cameras, meters and notebooks, went to the parking of sanitation trucks with excitement like before departure to school excursion. I, documentarist, and this time in the role of a proud representative of Team 2. I have the privilege to see the trucks, which have become an obsession to all teams. Frequently one could hear on the group meetings:, I saw it today! He passed right in front of me, really!'', Hey, I dreamed Sprinter –truck last night!''  Etc .The trailer is ours pedestal for artistic work and measures must perfectly fit to the construction which we are planning to make. In order to make wooden box in which it will be projected animation, it was necessary to photograph every detail, so that craftsman took into account on how to fix the construction for the truck. So I measure each side of the truck and photograph every detail, all by order of the craftsman who was unable to go with us. A friendly driver of the same trucks is not quite clear why I have a lot of questions about trucks that he drives every day, and he reluctantly admits that he is bored of those trucks. I write down his every word. Excursion ends, we measure each side of the trailer a few times, we've photographed everything, and then each representative of his team shall submit a report :)

Tim 7 / Team 7

U sledećem tekstu ćete saynati više o samoj umetnici, njenoj zamisli kao i o realizaciji samog dela.

Team 7 is an international group whose members are: artist Marika Troili (who comes from Sweden), curator Andrej Bereta and associate curator, Milica Bobic.
As Marika was last to become part of the teams for Mikser Festival, her ideas were presented last. Given that her work is fixed, she will not change positions throughout the Mikser festival, and the location for her artwork is the tram station under the Branko's bridge .
Marika's work is called "Floating Worlds" which is an old story about oranges. In fact, every person is like half of  an orange floating on the surface of water in search of his/her ideal second half. Someone finds it, someone does not.

Marika arrived in Belgrade few days ago, and met with other members of the "Kustosiranje" project. In the next post you will know more about the artist, her ideas and the making of the artwork.

Subota popodne u Mikser House-u, Amalija,Tanja i Nemanja_online / Saturday afternoon in the Mikser House, Amalija, Tanja and Nemanja_online

Naše dogovore Nemanja prati preko telefona i skajpa. On uveliko radi na animaciji i šalje nam fotke kako to izgleda. Uz pomoć prijatelja i digitrona dolazimo polako do rešenja.

Amalija, radna subota u Mikser House-u

Nemanjine fotografije animacije

It’s been a few days since the last meeting; It is 11th of May and the work tempo is getting more intensive. I met with Amalia in a Mikser House. Our plans Nemanja follows by phone and Skype. He is already working on the animation and he is sending us the photos how it looks like. Amaljia and I talk about Nemanja’s work, looking at a scene from Hitchcock’s film'' The Bird'' and re-experiencing trauma of the most frightening horror film from our childhood, all in the service of art! :) Now we are already beginning to develop ideas for the text about animation. However, while we are doing this part of the job, we’re enjoying and chatting over coffee, but we also have to do the one,’’physical work’’ that involves budget formulation and research materials for construction. We are writing down measures of trucks and we are cursing all missed math classes while we are struggling to calculate the proportions of the structure. With the help of friends and calculators we slowly came to a solution. There will be a lot of work, but for this sunny Saturday it was enough, relaxing and productive!

Počeci druženja tima br. 2 / The beginnings of team ‘’ No.2’’

Nemanja i Amalija

                                                          Obilazak lokacija kamiona

Following the first meeting with all the teams which was held  29.04.2013 in MixerHouse, members of team ‘’No 2’’ which consists of Nemanja Nikolic (artist), Amalija Stojsavljević (curator) and  Tanja Djordjevic, myself(associate curator / documentary), still under the euphoria of the previous meeting where we heard the ideas of all teams, we  continued to socialize in the gallery ‘’U 10’’, where Nemanja is working. As it is usually the case when we first meet somebody, we talked about who knows the same people and we exchanged our previous experiences, and it soon became increasingly clear that the team would operate in a relaxed and tension-free atmosphere. Nemanja told us about his idea for the Mixer festival. It is an animation inspired by a scene from the film, ''The Birds'' by Alfred Hitchcock, particularly the scene with the main character in a phone booth. Amalija and I took great interest in this issue, tortured him with a bunch of questions about the work, to which Nemanja patiently answered, even though it was very clear that we tired him, so we wish to thank him for his unbelievable patience :)

After the end of spring break,on the 6th of  May, our team was brought together again in the ambient of Mixer House. After a short break, full of enthusiasm and in high spirits, team members became more serious  and committed to the project. We considered all the things needed for the project. Since every good plan needs to be precisely brainstormed, we put the whole process  on paper. Amalija and I wrote, and Nemanja , of course, drew:) We came to the conclusion that the truck has to be covered and that we need to create structures such as tarpaulins for trucks, which itself will practically give the illusion of a phone booth. We decided on the necessary material s, and then we talked about ways of getting them. Although it all seemed hardly possible at the starting point, after only a few hours, in the working atmosphere of  Mixer House, we managed to find great number of solutions.

In order  to visualize  the entire setting, we came to the idea to visit the locations where trucks  would be located . Inspired and motivated, we  easily found solutions to dilemmas that initially held us back . We started to work  and create as a team,  excited and impatient to implement the project :)

Prvi susret tima 3 / The first meeting of the Team 3

Nekoliko dana posle prvog zvaničnog susreta svih timova u Mikser house-u 29. aprila , tim 3, koga čine umetnica (snimateljka, direktorka fotografije) Bojana Andrić, kustoskinja Kristina Grebenar i ja, saradnica kustoskinje Anđela Milinković, se našao u jednom foto-studiu u

                                                                       Bojana i Kristina

                                                                           Bojana

A few days after the first official meeting of all teams in Mixer house on 29 of April, a team number 3, consisting of artist (director of photography) Bojana Andric, curator Kristina Grebenar, and I, associate curator Andjela Milinkovic, was in a photo-studio in
Zemun, where we got together to meet each other a little bit more and to start shaping the initial Bojana`s concept for the exibition.
The first meeting, as it should be, was more relaxed then hard-working. Kristina and I met each other in front of Madlenianum and together we went to Bojana`s “Omnibus” studio.

The studio is located in a picturesque alley of Zemun, overlooking the quay. The studio was full of wonders, lying around there were a bunch of cameras, lights, presses, one darkroom, instruments ... and so on… a real creative chaos.
Kristina and I kept asking Bojana what this or that thing is used for, and after we satisfied our curiosity, all three of us started to discuss two concepts that Bojana had in mind for the upcoming exhibition.
One of two concepts deals with guard-houses in Savamala and the other concept would be to transform the truck into a camera obscura. Both ideas sounded great to us, but Bojana, Kristina and I, finally decided that the concept of a large camera obscura installed in Savamala was far more intriguing and challenging.

We talked for some time about a possible implementation of this concept, there have been some questions about the technical aspects of the implementation, we have written down some of the most important dilemmas relating to this project, and in the end we even have split some assignments among us.
We had to have an exact mathematical calculation based on which the
camera obscura was to be functional, and that part of the job was waiting for Bojana. Kristina and I in the next few days were in charge to write the brief info of this work, that is , a short announcement for the press and to the emergence of Bojana`s accurate calculation, we were about to continue with the process of project realization.
Project started in a super interesting and relaxed way, but also in a very active one!
